My first project is photographing life on the UC Berkeley Campus, daily, while walking my dog, trying to capture whatever is there in front of me during the very short period of time available.  I started this project in June 2012 walking Coco in late afternoon, then added Arrow in March 2013 for a second walk in the morning, giving me the opportunity to shoot different activities.  Coco cancelled her walk in June 2015, followed by Arrow in January 2020. I am still walking, though not as regularly as I used to!

The second project is photographing life on my street, straight from my desk window, the camera sitting on a tripod while I am at the computer.  I started back in 2009 occasionally until 2016 when I got more deeply involved, all day long!  Amazingly, both projects, although very specific and limited in space and time, offer constant and non stop surprises, as if it were the first time. They both have a high level of frustration due to the fact that, of course, I am never ready to shoot the “great shot”…either the dog is not cooperating and or the camera!
